One minute: obvious returns
Put away a few things with known homes. Skip mystery objects, paperwork decisions and cupboard projects. If you are tidying alongside someone else, give each person a separate tiny job so you do not both circle the same pile.
Two minutes: one useful surface
Clear one bedside table, a patch of worktop or the entrance bench. Gather dishes and laundry for their usual destinations. Do not open drawers unless putting something away needs it; an open drawer can quickly become a different project.
One minute: make tomorrow easier
Choose one preparation: put keys in their usual spot, set an empty bag by the door or lay out the cloths for the next reset. This is about removing one small friction, not staging the house for a photograph.
One minute: finish the loop
Empty the return basket and put your supplies away. A reset has an ending. If five minutes is too much today, choose a single task instead. The timer lets you pause and restart; it does not record a streak or penalise a missed day.
Keep going, gently
